The Cube Extension - Case Study

Project Description

During this unique extension we were employed by our client to install a frameless glass box to a 1921 Victorian terraced property, one of the main issues noted during our site inspection was that the site itself was very limited in regards to access and actual works space, this put more emphasis on the construction works schedule.  Also with the property being an end terrace the customer had raised issues with privacy during the evening, the architectural consultants had produced an inventive lighting scheme to allow privacy during the evening via producing diffuser lighting pods that produce an obscured effect creating the privacy required. 
 
Particular emphasis was placed on construction connection details to make sure the junctions of the framework remained clean and contemporary, but still maintained the overall modern linear concept. The steel and aluminium frame and use of the large planar laminated glass panel construction really complement the overall finish.
